Prior to his term as America250 CEO, he was the president and CEO of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum. While there, he led the effort to build a top-notch board of directors, raised $80 million, ran the competition for site selection, and finalized the design of the museum.
Once the Museum opened, it was time for Joe Daniels to find a new project. That project was America250, a foundation that was commissioned by the US Congress. Its purpose is to plan the celebrations for America's 250th anniversary. As the former president and CEO of this group, Joseph Daniels built a high-quality team. This team would develop the vision and plans for the celebrations and programs dedicated to the 250th anniversary event.
Joseph Daniels, former CEO of America250, started his nonprofit career at the Robin Hood Foundation, which focuses on reducing the effects of poverty in New York City. There, he led a program to build libraries in schools with disadvantaged students in partnership with NYC agencies.
