The habits he developed, including effective time management, organization, and thorough preparation, became important tools that supported his future endeavors.

Before pursuing that stage of his education, Joseph attended the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidates School. The experience reinforced the importance of accountability, attention to detail, and performing well under pressure. It also strengthened his belief that preparation is essential when facing demanding situations. From that environment, he developed a deep respect for structure, personal responsibility, and readiness when challenges arise.

Earlier in his career, Joseph D. Lento worked with at-risk youth and assisted with educational programs in his community.
