Amherst, Massachusetts, United States

I am a rising junior at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I am also in the Commonwealth Honors College. I was enrolled in seven classes this past semester and will be enrolled in seven classes in the Fall 14 semester as well. I really like working with numbers and money which is why I have declared to be a double major in finance and mathematics. The finance tracks I will pursue are alternative investments track and the financial analyst track and I will pursue the applied mathematics concentration for my math major. Whether its a supermarket, a hospital, or in finanicial services, I have been employed since the eighth grade. I currently work at State Street Corporation during my semesters at college and currently work at TD Bank this summer as an intern in risk management.

Math is definitely my passion as I excel in work related to numbers. I am always the first one to complete a math test as it just comes so natural to me. Most people dislike doing math, but I find it so stimulating that I actually look forward to math assignments. My drive and determination are the reasons I love working with numbers because some problems require many steps, but I do not mind because I am motivated to find the answer.

I have received tons of valuable advice while volunteering at South Shore Hospital during my high school years. One piece of adivce a patient gave me was to try my hardest at everything I do. I apply this attitude to everything I do whether it is selling seafood to customers at Whole Foods or doing well in college. I have such a great opportunity being in the Isenberg School of Management that I must make the most of it by trying my hardest at everything I do.
