Joseph Siu

Joseph Siu is a well-known and experience executive in educational and academic publishing industry in the region. He has been working in publishing industry for over 22 years as marketing and business development professional. Prior joining Oxford University Press China as their Assistant Digital Project Director, he had taken various roles in major local and international publishers, including Educational Publishing House as their sales manager, Springer-Verlag (Asia) as their China Sales Manager, Cambridge University Press as their China Director and Asia Electronic Business Development Director, and Hong Kong University Press as their International and E-Publishing Sales Manager.

During his time in Cambridge University Press, he had successfully established the China and Hong Kong business for Cambridge publications. With his entrepreneurship and dauntless effort, he had established four regional representative offices: Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing, for Cambridge University Press, and converted the market from less than US$ 1 million in 1998 to over US$ 5 million business in 2006. With his successful business development track record, he was promoted as Asia Electronic Business Director in 2006 and started to lead the electronic publishing and strategies for Cambridge University Press in Asia.

Apart from his vast working experience in educational and digital publishing, and entrepreneurship, Mr Siu is also an active learner. After graduated in Hong Kong Baptist University in 1988, Mr Siu obtained his Master of Business Administration in General Management in Exeter University (UK, 1994), Postgraduate Diploma in China Business Studies in Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK, 2001), and Master of Information Technology in Education in the University of Hong Kong (HK, 2009). In the past few years, Mr Siu had been invited as panel speaker for various educational and e-learning seminars, to share his experience and knowledge in book marketing, educational and digital publishing.
