Joseph Casagrande

Woodstock, Ga

My name is Joe Casagrande and I am a freshman here at Valdosta State University and an engineering major. I've spent the last four years of my life in Woodstock, Georiga after my dad was transferred to Atlanta for his job in the airline industry. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and I grew up there with a lacrosse stick in my hand. I have played lacrosse for twelve years and I don't plan on ever stopping. I am on the Chicago National Team and the Wounded Warrior Project All American Team.

I decided to come to Valdosta after visiting it last year and I immediately fell in love with the campus but so far, it has been a rough start. I had no idea how hot it got down here but that's okay beacuse I'm slowly getting use to it. I came here knowing absolutely no one and I believe life is better that way to meet new people in a new place and adapt to change. I was also in the Dual Enrollment Honors Program last year as a senior in high school so, I will be a sophomore in three credit hours which I'm very excited about. I took twenty-seven hours of credits at Kennesaw State University and graduated from Etowah High School this past May.

Engineering interests me because my uncle is an engineer and it just seems like an awesome job to have in the technologically advancing world we live in today. I plan to specifically major in Aerospace Engineering after I get my core classes out of the way and I hope to learn as much as absolutely possible about my community through this class!
