I recently moved back to the United States after living in Wuhan, China for nearly two years. While in China I became very interested in urbanization, and in particular how local governments in China utilize and rely on rural land as a financial asset to stimulate economic growth in cities. I also became interested in China's efforts to power its cities and forge a sustainable future. Since taking a deep breath and returning to the United States, I've begun to wonder how government policy and financial institutions are working together and separately to support the growth of renewable energy technologies.
