Facts are boring. Tell me a story. Give me adjectives and adverbs, similes and metaphors to drag me into your world.
I'm bright and breezy, and honestly baffled by the world sometimes. The human body is an awesome intricate machine and my undergraduate degree (Biomedical Science) was a great insight into up-to-date research.
However, there's more to the world than our own beating hearts, so my interests have broadened into more sociological scenarios within the health and education sectors.
Did you know that only 1% of the British mothers breastfeed for the recommended duration?
I love working with young people - socially, I'm about 12 years old. I completed a Masters in Science Communication and since then I've been communicating science to young people in any way that I can: science festivals, school tours, public demonstrations throughout the UK and abroad.
Most recently I spent 3 months in Uganda working in health promotions in schools and out-of-school youth groups - it was bloody fantastic. I'm heading to Ghana in January for 6 months to work in a school as a 'Scientist in Residence' where I'll be enabling young Ghanians to run their own experiments to solve their own questions, 'creating scientists, not teaching science'.
I am a keen photographer, wannabe vegetarian and exceptionally optimistic guy who is on the look out for meaningful adventure.
It's all about the story, my friends. My Great Auntie Bernice is 97, and her life has been incredible so far. Her stories soar beyond imagination. And, at the end of the day, your life just ends up being a story, might as well make it a good one.
