Joseph Chairge

Working in the construction supply industry since the 1980s, Joseph Chairge, Jr., currently serves as General Manager of Dirlam Brothers Lumber, Inc., in Pittston, Pennsylvania. The company, started in 1943, boasts over $25 million in annual sales and is recognized as an industry leader. Joseph Chairge, Jr., previously owned and operated Pittston Lumber and Manufacturing for nearly two decades before selling the company to Dirlam Brothers in 2007.

As General Manager, he leads 35 employees across multiple Dirlam Brothers Lumber locations. In addition to managing an eight-member sales team, he handles customer relations, marketing, account collections, and commodity purchasing. While the construction and building supply industry faces a 25% market decline, Chairge's leadership prevents Dirlam Brothers' revenues from facing the same fate. He develops cost-effective solutions and maintains key business relationships in order to keep the company successful.

Beyond his work at Dirlam Brothers, Chairge's career has included a number of other professional activities. He served as a board member for the Eastern Building Material Dealers Association and the Pittston Chamber of Commerce. As a member of the First National Community Bank Advisory Board, he developed strong ties in banking and helped secure new business development. Active in the community, Chairge served as the President of the Pittston YMCA twice and oversaw fundraising efforts for the organization.

In his off time, Joseph Chairge, Jr., participates in several recreational activities and is involved with multiple clubs. A college sports fan himself, he previously coached the St. Mary's Assumption School girls' basketball team. He also organizes golf tournaments in the area and plays the sport at Emanon Country Club. Chairge enjoys spending time outdoors hunting and fishing as well.
