Joseph Conlon

Hi, je m'appelle Joe.

I'm a recent Master's grad from the University of Glasgow in Mechanical Engineering. My dissertation saw me optimising single-crystal optical fibre sensors for high-temperature measurement in extreme environments

I undertook a year studying at the University of British Columbia in Canada, whilst also working part-time for a Vancouver-based startup helping design a novel appliance implemented patented technology.

I have a keen interest in many financial instruments and classes, such as Forex, equities (NASDAQ, NYSE etc.) and derivatives. I am an active member of GUTIC, and was the top performer over a 6 month period, realising over 600% ROI during this time over 2000+ trades. In addition, I am an active investor in my private brokerage account, focusing on a moderate to macro time-scale.

My passions are 35 mm photography, skiing, scuba and mixed martial arts (both spectating and training). I also enjoy backpacking (23 countries to date), and a bit of casual journalism on the side. I would like a career in Design Engineering, but also have experience in Manufacture, Quality and Process (automotive).
