Joseph Draper is a sports broadcaster and multimedia journalist. He calls games, reports from the field, and produces broadcast packages. Joseph works both on camera and behind the scenes, calling the action and producing coverage.
Joseph graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2026 with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sport Studies. He studied at the University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania, and was part of Penn State's John Curley Center for Sports Journalism.
He started early. Before college, Joseph covered high school sports in Pennsylvania's Lehigh Valley for D11Sports.com. He filmed games, tracked stats, interviewed athletes and coaches, managed social media, and called games live on YouTube. Often, he did all of these tasks on his own.
At Penn State Lehigh Valley, Joseph was the play-by-play voice for the men's and women's basketball teams. He also managed interviews, social media, and game-day communications. Later, he joined the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference. There, he called championship games in several sports, co-hosted a weekly podcast about the conference's teams and athletes, and coordinated media and social coverage at championship events.
With After The Whistle PSU, Joseph improved his reporting and production skills. He covered high school sports, did post-game interviews, wrote scripts, and edited broadcast packages using Adobe Premiere Pro. He also gained national production experience with Fox Sports by assisting producers during Big Noon Kickoff at Penn State.
Joseph's on-air and behind-the-scenes work support each other. He can call a game and then edit the subsequent package. On air, he does play-by-play, color commentary, and sideline reporting. He also writes scripts, edits, and works on live productions. He uses Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, CapCut, and Ross Inception, and shoots with professional Sony cameras like the FX3 and Z90.
His work goes beyond sports. In February 2026, Joseph earned an international film credit for The Hail Mary, directed by Daniel Roebuck.
Joseph is continuing to build his career in sports broadcasting and multimedia journalism. He covers live events and tells the stories around them.
