A lawyer drawing on decades of experience, Joseph Gufford (Joe Gufford) graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and then received his Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law. Beginning with his first semester in law school, Joe Gufford worked as a law clerk with a top-notch personal injury/civil litigation firm with Justin C. Johnston. In this role, he successfully argued one of the first cases in the country that concerned AIDS discrimination. He later functioned as a Partner at Barber, Gufford & Lawrence as well as Brandt & Gufford. At present, he acts as President of The Gufford Law Firm in Stuart, Florida, where he focuses on cases relating to family law, civil litigation, and personal injury. Actively involved with a number of professional organizations, Joseph Gufford has served as the Chairman of the Martin County Bar Association Family Law Committee as well as a board member of Florida Rural Legal Services and the Florida Equal Justice Center. Endeavoring to give back to individuals in need, he frequently takes on pro bono cases. In 2008-2009, he won the Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award. He has also achieved a rating of "Superb" from Avvo.com, a website that measures attorneys’ overall performance with emphasis on lawyer reviews and client reviews.
