Joseph Hartley

Joseph is an English teenager with an appetite for travel, the great outdoors and a good conversation. Born in Ayrshire, Scotland but grew up on the north coast of Devon in South West England, Joseph has always been surrounded by nature in many forms from the open sea and long beaches to rocky hills and tors and thick forests.

At the age of 12, he joined a local youth theatre company which he would progress to become heavily involved in as the next 4 years of his teenage life became focussed almost entirely on performing arts. At the age of 15, Joseph founded his own theatre company with 4 other accomplished local actors. Co-running the theatre club for a year, he managed the finances, administration and publicity of the company while also directing and acting the productions.

In September 2012 at the age of 16, Joseph got the opportunity to attend the world’s first fully mobile, travelling high school, THINK Global School. Studying in three countries each year he has so far studied in Argentina, Bhutan, USA, India, Tanzania, Japan, New Zealand, Costa Rica and is currently in his last term in Greece. During this time, he has actively shared his travels through his blog and photography.
