I run Performance in Mind, a sports and performance psychology consultancy. I have a long long background in communications and behaviour change having worked for many years in journalism, marketing, public relations and crisis communications across private corporations and government. I’m a little bit geeky (ok maybe a lot geeky) so this is backed up by an MSc in Communications, an MSc in Psychology, an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology and a PhD in Political Communications. I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), the British Association of Sport & Exercise Sciences (BASES) and the Association of Applied Sports Psychologists (AASP).

The years I’ve spent working in communications mean I’ve become an expert in advising senior teams and chief executives how to put across their messages effectively and to feel confident in difficult and testing situations. The additional training in psychology has meant I can add some academic rigour and knowledge into this advice and, most excitingly for someone who loves sport as much as I do, the skills can be extended for athletes who need to perform in competition.

With the background in media and additional psychological academic research in this area, I have built an expertise in media training and advising athletes on how to deal effectively with the media so helps facilitate positive performances rather than impacting negatively upon them.

Would love to collaborate with anyone else looking at or working in this area. And of course always happy to help advise anyone who wants to improve their performance, in sports or business.
