Josephine Appleby

I like to be called Posy or Sephy. Never call me Jo, Joey, JoJo or Josie, I hate them.

I was born on February 29 so I only get a proper birthday every four years.

I was born in England (to an English dad, American mom) and moved to the U.S. when I was 13.

I have five older brothers and one (much) younger half-brother.

I support the English football (soccer) team Wolves, which is quite stressful at times.

I also support Leicester Tigers (English rugby team) and the following Chicago teams; Bears, Bulls, Cubs, Wolves and Fire.

I am a lifelong vegetarian, having been raised as such and guess what, I'm perfectly healthy!

I am a Progressive Christian. That means (amongst other things) that I support marriage equality, am pro-choice and am nice, easy-going and non-preachy.

I respect the beliefs (and non-beliefs) of others, all I ask is that those others do the same towards me. However, if you criticize or offend my beliefs, don't expect me to sit back and take it.

I am a liberal and registered Democrat.

I support gun control.

I believe in access to healthcare for all, as healthcare isn't a commodity to be sold (and for people to get rich on), it's a fundamental human right.

I want every American to have access to a GOOD education and for college to be affordable for all.

I believe that women deserve pay equality for doing the EXACT same jobs that men do.

I also believe that women, and only women, have the right to say what they can and cannot do to their bodies. Politicians (espeically male ones) have no right to legislate women's bodies.

I come from a fairly "well off" family, who all believe it's the duty of the better off in society, to pay more into the pot and support those less fortunate.

I have no time for hardline, hate-filled and ignorant Repugnanticans (aka Republicans).

I am a junior at USC where I'm studying for a self-designed major focusing on (surprise, surprise) Social Inequality/Justice and Human Rights.
