Project Manager in California
I currently work in the marketing and advertising field as part of an in-house marketing department for a burgeoning specialty hardware retailer. I manage multiple projects by trafficking advertising collateral for a variety of channels, from print, ROP, and Direct Mail to digital elements like email, web banners and social media graphics. With my ability to work successfully among cross functional teams, I'm able to rally team members to deliver quality assets on time and in budget.
I am a SJSU Alumna with a bachelor of science degree in public relations and a minor in communication studies. During my time at SJSU I served as the president for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Pearce Davies Alpha Chapter. I was the chair of the Fall 2012 JMC Graduation committee, for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications, planning all of the details for a graduation ceremony of more than 80 graduates and 800 guests. One of my favorite events to have planned was to serve on the planning committee for PR Day 2013, a pre-professional networking event created for SJSU's public relations students.
During my college years I work as an intern for two very different organizations. One was for NBC Universal, where I performed duties as a project coordinator in the sales and marketing department. I learned about viewer demographics, selling media packages and developing PR sales proposals for potential sponsors. The second internship was where I worked as a corporate communications intern for a Fortune 500 discount retailer.
I'm looking to further develop my career in advertising/marketing through a communications or content creation role. I have a passion to work in marketing for the high tech or automotive industries, or any combination of the two.
