Joseph Jones is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Empire State Sinfonia.

Mr. Jones has recently been a conducting fellow with the Allentown (Pa.) Symphony orchestra and assistant conductor at the National Music Festival in Floyd, Va. A conducting fellow- at the Aspen Music Festival in 2005, Mr. Jones has appeared with the Moscow Symphony, the Kuban Symphony (Krasnodar, Russia), and the Orquestra Sinfonica de Coyo (Mendoza, Argentina. He has participated in master classes with orchestras such as the Omaha Symphony and Rose City Chamber Orchestra under conductors such as David Zinman, Vladimir Ponkin, Michael Morgan, Murray Sidlin, Daniel Lewis, Thomas Wilkins, Mark Gibson and Victoria Bond. Mr. Jones is also a composer, violinist, violist and timpanist-percussionist. The Rhode Island native studied composition, timpani, viola and conducting at the Peabody Conservatory of Music.
Passionate about music education, Mr. Jones has served as a teaching artist with schools in Manhattan and the Bronx as well as teaching privately.
