Joseph Papin MD

Joseph Papin, MD, is a healthcare executive and the Principal of Suncoast Search Capital. With a background in medicine, healthcare management, business strategy, and mergers and acquisitions, he brings extensive experience in both clinical and operational aspects of healthcare.

Born in Miami, Florida, to a Salvadoran mother and a Midwestern father, Joseph grew up with a strong entrepreneurial foundation. From a young age, he worked in his family's businesses, gaining firsthand experience in operations and management. His commitment to service and leadership was further shaped by his summers in El Salvador, where he volunteered at his grandmother’s free clinic, inspiring his passion for medicine.

Joseph attended the University of Florida, where he graduated first in his class in Chemistry and received the prestigious Howard M. Sheridan Award for academic excellence. He also contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in Surgery and Neurosurgery and earned the Presidential Service Award for his community service.

He pursued his medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School, one of the top-ranked programs in the country. While excelling academically and matching into General Surgery, he recognized the growing need for healthcare leaders who understand the business side of medicine.
