Joseph Schlim
Joseph Schlim possesses nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Currently, he serves as the managing partner and chief financial officer at Valcour Capital Holdings LLC, an asset management company he cofounded in 2009, which primarily invests in structured credit products, including collateralized loan obligations and non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities. Joseph Schlim is also the financial operations principal for Valcour Securities and the portfolio manager of the Valcour Opportunities Fund. As of September 2013, Valcour Capital Holdings LLC had more than $500 million in assets under management.
Previously, Joseph Schlim was the executive managing partner and chief financial officer at Aladdin Capital Holdings LLC, where he supervised the company’s financial operations and steered the placement of approximately $22 billion in assets under management. While in this position, Joe Schlim spoke at numerous conferences on fixed-income securities about the investment-grade, high-yield, and structured products markets. Earlier in his career, he worked in fixed-income sales at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc., and JP Morgan Securities, Inc.
Outside of work, Joe Schlim contributes to several educational institutions, including the University of Virginia, St. Luke’s School, and the New Canaan Country School. He also supports a variety of charitable organizations, including the Wounded Warriors Project, Circle of Care, and the American Red Cross.
