Joseph Spaid

I make and write films. Features when possible, shorts & docs in between, and special effects for TV commercials almost constantly. Being very passionate about far-flung travel, and having visited more than 70 countries now, intercultural exploration has become a major theme in my work. The film I'm best known for is Kiran over Mongolia, a feature doc about nomads who hunt with eagles. As producer, I made a half hour doc about surfing in New York City called Aloha New York. I also directed and animated a short film about world peace called Written by Gandhi which went to the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner.
