Based in New York City, Joseph Tacopina is known nationwide as a premier defense lawyer. During Michael Jackson’s controversial child molestation case, Mr. Tacopina represented one of Jackson’s close associates, ultimately seeing the charges against him dropped. He also represented rapper Sticky Fingaz, obtaining dropped charges relating to a gun found in a hotel room where he was staying in 2006. In 2008, Mr. Tacopina secured an acquittal of murder charges for actor Lillo Brancato of The Sopranos, and an acquittal of felony assault charges for New York State Senator Hiram Monserrate in 2009.
