Dr. Joseph T. Hayes specializes in managing chronic pain for patients in Philadelphia and its surrounding area. Trained in acupuncture as well as in traditional medicine, Dr. Hayes possesses particular experience in treating pain of the shoulders, hips, knees, lower back, spine, and joints. He also treats opioid addiction and dependency through the use of the medicine Suboxone, which blocks opioids from impacting the brain and can be taken in the home by most patients.

Dr. Joseph T. Hayes presently serves as a Medical Consultant with Highmark Blue Shield and as the Medical Director at Mercy Suburban Medical Center’s Hayes Pain Management Center. Prior to taking his present positions Dr. Joseph T. Hayes worked as Medical Director of Occupational Medicine and Employee Health at Norristown, Pennsylvania’s Montgomery Hospital Medical Center. He came to the position after seven years as Associate Medical Director of the United States Postal Service’s Northern New Jersey District. He has also held positions as medical director for several Fortune 500 companies in both the United Kingdom and the United States.

Dr. Joseph T. Hayes holds full licensure to practice medicine from both the State of Kentucky and the State of Pennsylvania. He earned his M.D. from Ross University School of Medicine and completed residences in family practice and occupational and environmental medicine in New Jersey.

Dr. Hayes has since garnered several other advanced degrees, including a Master of Public Health in Health Care Administration and Occupational Health from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and the Rutgers Medical School Graduate Program of Public Health and a Masters’ of Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
