Josette Archin

Greetings, I’m Josette (you may call me "Jo"). I accumulated years of experience in planning and coordinating clinical research trials. I love collaborating with diverse departments, sponsors, teams, and patients to make something magical happen: a grant award, getting a patient in for treatment, a published manuscript or a change in medical guidelines due to a collaborative work conducted.

I am passionate about traveling and learning about different cultures. But, the culture that I am most passionate about is the Haitian culture. When certain people in the diaspora want to denounce their heritage, I just want to shout it out to the world, “I am Black, I am Haitian, and I am proud.”

Successfully raising my two children has been the biggest accomplishment in my life. I worked full time and was a full-time Mom. Raising successful children is immeasurable because the task does not come with a handbook. You just get in there, get your hands dirty and pray for the best. My next biggest accomplishment would have to be successfully returning to school and completing my Master’s.

Just like I am passionate about Haiti, I have things that I have no passion for at all. I hate cooking. Now, this is not to say I do not know how to cook because I do. My children can attest to that. They tell me on and off that I can open a restaurant with my flavorful dishes. But, I’d rather crawl in bed with a good inspirational book.

I love reading books that expand my mind and spirit. Nothing beats reading a good book while a classical music radio station is playing some well-composed pieces. Although Haitian Compas music is my first choice to listen to, classical music is my second choice. It is so soothing and relaxing.

With wisdom and time, I have come to believe in respecting people’s time, always maintaining professionalism irrespective of the job title, maintaining clear communication. I am easy going; yet, I follow a strong work ethic. At work, I put forward my highest level of personal and ethical standards to represent the organization responsibly and professionally.
