There is a famous proverb that states, "Man plans and God laughs." Some of us believe we must follow a single path to find happiness, yet on this journey we end up tripping, dislocating a shoulder, and ending up right back where we started. Ha-ha-ha...
After living some time in Manhattan, I concluded that city life was not for me. So, I sold my cynicism for my father's green Suburban that took me from the fashion capital of the world to the land of Lululemon: my hometown Short Hills, where I am currently living with my parents while I pursue my graduate degree in clinical social work. Though much of my time is occupied by attending class, an internship, and a part-time job, I still find time to do the things I never thought I'd love to do.
Since moving back, I've developed a newfound appreciation for the place I once yearned to escape, which may be due to the fact that I've inevitably turned into my mother. Over the course of just a few months, I adopted her passion for cooking to watching "Jeopardy!" to passive aggressively forcing others to eat. But seriously, my dessert was a crowd favorite at Mindy's gluten-free kosher clambake yesterday!
The path may have changed, but my life is still beyond nuts.
