Joshua Ryan Ortega graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso where he received a bachelor of arts degree in multidisciplinary studies (Communication, film, and drama).
Joshua has had a passion for motion pictures from the early age of 4. In that time, he learned about production companies, independent films, and the hard work that comes with the creative profession. In 2009, Joshua made his first short film The Engagement." The film was never fully finished. He then would take a break from his next film to work at the Walt Disney World Company in 2010 where he worked as a custodian and the cast member at the attraction Muppet Vision 3D. In 2011, his next project would be "Crappy Day” a short film shot in San Antonio Texas at Our Lady of The Lake University. That would mark Joshua's first complete short film. In the beginning of 2013, Josh would make "Heartbeat", a very important story about anxiety and the acceptance of family. Joshua made the film for some of old high school friends who suffer from strong anxiety. Josh claims that some cases were so strong, some of his friends needed to be medicated to get through the days. After the film, Joshua began working on his next project. He wanted to separate himself from this one and write a universal story about consequence. In 2014, Joshua went into production on "Cold Feet." The film is set to release in May of this year and hopes to get into festivals.

Joshua is already working on his next project witch is set to release in 2016. It will be a big budget full-length feature film. He is also working on other writings including, screenplays, poetry, comedy and songwriting.
