My name is Joshua Rebello and I am studying Health Science to one day work in public health. My goal for a career in public health is to improve the health of communities of people through education with focus on community specific disparities. I have incorporated the study of sociology into my studies in order to further develop my ability to work with communities and societies of people. This work could take me anywhere I chose and I certainly hope it provides opportunities to work with various people around the world.
I have a strong craving for traveling and learning about different cultures. This sprouted due to a study abroad trip I took the summer before my senior year in high school. I went to Nicaragua for three weeks studying Nicaraguan history, economics, public school system, and political situation. That trip truly inspired my passion for working with the underserved and taught me knowledge can be the best gift you can give someone. After some years of refinement I was able to identify a career path in health education which addressed those take-aways.
