Student and aid in Norwalk, CT
Howdy, I’m Josh,
I’m a student from Norwalk, CT. I go to Plymouth State University where I am majoring in Meteorology and I am a sophomore. I have loved weather since I was two years old. My parents would put the weather channel on, thinking I would fall asleep. What actually happened was they would fall asleep and I would watch it. Ever since then, I have loved the weather and went to college to accomplish my dream goal in life.
For the past three years, I have been working with autistic people. My job entails helping them with daily activities like being part of the community. Daily, we will go out and deliver meals, we will also go shopping for the elderly and others who cannot shop for themselves. Others things that we do include: bringing them to fun events like the movie theatre, Yankees games, and even week trips to Californa and Canada.
I have really enjoyed my time working with these people! My life has been forever changed because they have been in my life. When I first started to work here, I was just volunteering. After I finished the first year they asked me if I wanted to have a job for the summer and I accepted. Ever since then, I have had the most fun time of my life to be able to work with such compassionate and incredible people.
In the future, I plan to pursue a job in broadcast meteorology after I graduate in two years. In the meantime, I plan to get an internship over my junior year summer to work at a broadcast studio.
For fun, I like to watch all sports from Massachusetts. I could tell you anything about any of the major four sports. Others things I like to do include: having fun with my friends and participating in community service on a daily basis.
