I am studying tabla and living a quiet life in Hawaii on the island of Maui. Tabla is my main musical focus right now. I have studied with Debashish Chaudhuri in Los Angeles and currently studying with Daniel Paul. I am available for tabla gigs on Maui of you are in need of a drummer.

Spiritual Background:

I began working with mantras and yoga practices in 2001 after a powerful mystical experience I had one afternoon while dreaming, that experience led me to my first book on mantra by Ram Dass entitled "Journey of Awakening."

After a few years of practice I listened to Krishna Das's Hanuman Chalisa and wept and wept and wondered why? Why should these words and prayers in an ancient language have such a profound effect on my heart, emotions and consciousness. That was it, I had to know, so I began to chant more and more with my harmonium, with no intention of leading kirtan. One day I was asked to lead some chanting at a church and soon began offering and teaching the practice of kirtan in the Midwest. After some years I listened to the call of my heart and moved to Los Angeles to pursue music and bhakti (the yoga of devotion).
