Josh Stockel enjoys working with teams and their leaders, bringing them together to accomplish a common goal. He has more than ten years of executive experience in operations and administration. His career has spanned the private, public, and non-profit worlds, developing leaders, teams, and systems to support organizations and businesses.
Josh began his career with the City of McAllen as the Superintendent of Aquatics in the Parks and Recreation Department. After his time there, he helped launch and grow Logos Community Church from a small group to a multisite church in three cities across the RGV. Josh is also the former owner of PJ Pies, a full cafe that has an award winning business plan and has been featured in blogs, newspapers, and magazines, including Texas Monthly.
Josh had the pleasure of leading the Greater Mission Chamber of Commerce as the President & CEO. During his time there he launched the nonprofit, Mission Prosperity Ventures Inc., and was able to provide $5,000 in scholarships within a few months of having the 501c3 approved. During his time with the Chamber there was not only an increase in financial health but in membership retention, programs for businesses, and events that connected local businesses with the community.
Josh now serves the City of McAllen as the Deputy Director of Programs overseeing 200+ employees who lead city wide events, aquatics, athletics, marketing, McAllen Nature Center, Fireman's Park programs, and 3 community centers. He is also the owner of Blue Goat Marketing, a digital marketing company that helps local businesses get found and grow quickly.
