Joshua Bekenstein

Joshua Bekenstein grew up in New York City. He received a BA in Economics from Yale University and later earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. Bekenstein joined Bain Capital at its founding in 1984 with a number of colleagues from Bain & Company. He has served as Managing Director since 1986.

Josh Bekenstein is an active philanthropist serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a Board member of City Year, Chairman of the Board of Directors of New Profit Inc., a Board member of New Leaders for New Schools. Josh Bekenstein is Chair of the Board of Be The Change Inc., and a longtime member of the Board of Trustees of the Pan-Mass Challenge, the country's largest charity bike-a-thon, which raises money for the Dana-Farber. He is also a member of the Investment Committee for Yale University.
