Student, Artist, and Musician in Baguio City, Philippines

Hey, I’m Joshua Angelo. I’m a student living in Baguio City, Philippines. I have always been passionate about the culture and the arts. It has been my dream since my childhood years to be a performer, not just a singer but an all-around performer in the field of performing arts. At a young age, I have been exposed to different indigent and foreign cultures. I was an active member of our school’s dance team during my younger years, then I became an athlete performer in the field of martial arts and lion dance during my high school years. It was during my senior high years that I was exposed to my local culture up in the north. I became a part of a choral group that aims to perform, uphold, and share the cordilleran culture across the world. I have always believed in the power of culture; thus I always believe that through performing and exposing the culture and arts, we will be able to share our culture with the world.

I perused music as a career as I believe that education is vital to my growth as a musician. I continued with music as a degree at the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Assoc. Prof. Eugene A. De los Santos. I have been a scholar of the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines since 2019. Aside from that, I am also a consistent Dean's lister while continuing my singing passion by joining choral groups.

Culture is a vital tool in bringing people together. I always believe that performing and preserving our music, arts, and culture is very much my goal as a musician. I envision the Dap-ayan Culture and Arts Center as a home for the arts in the north. The Dap-ayan Culture and Arts Center represents a home that welcomes a community to preserve and share our culture.
