Hello and welcome to my space! My name is Joshua Paulsen, and I am a third-year Bachelor of Education student in Senior Phase and FET at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Business Management, School ICT Support, and Economic and Management Sciences.

I am deeply passionate about bridging the gap between education and technology, with a strong focus on innovation, ICT tools, and entrepreneurship. My vision is to help prepare learners for the challenges and opportunities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) by equipping them with critical computational thinking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-changing world.

Over the course of my academic journey, I have been fortunate to achieve and serve in meaningful roles:

Golden Key Award recipient (2022 & 2023) – recognized as part of the top 15% achievers.

Academic Tutor (2025) – appointed for School ICT Role Support 1A and 1B.

Mixed Reality Simulation Specialist (2025) – appointed in the Department of Learning Technologies at UJ, where I helped design and integrate immersive simulations for teacher development.

Beyond my university journey, I am a pre-service teacher and tutor in Business Studies, EMS, and CAT, where I not only teach but also create e-books, presentations, and digital learning resources to support learners. I also volunteer my time to assist secondary school learners, as I believe in using my knowledge and skills to give back to the community.

I see myself as a creative in the digital space, always looking for innovative ways to improve teaching and learning. My personal values—hard work, reliability, adaptability, and respect—guide me in both academic and professional settings. With a positive outlook on life and a good sense of humour, I strive to stay proactive and continuously upskill myself to remain relevant and impactful in education.
