Joshua Speight

My name is Joshua Speight and I'm the youngest out of three siblings. I have a 21 year old brother and a 19 year old sister. My whole family is from New Jersey but have lived down here in Georgia for many years. My parents got divorced when I was going into middle school and since then I've only live with my mom. We were a way below average family finacially living paycheck to paycheck in a small apartment building. Where I had to sleep with my brother in the same room.

I really don't know what I'm in college to pursue but I grew up with the idea that I needed to attend college. I guess because I always did well in school it gave the illusion to my parents that I'm going to excel in college better than my siblings. I never enjoyed going to school and learning I was just able to put in the right amount of effort in to keep my grades to a standard that I thought was reasonable.

Growing up I was always the most aggressive and competitive kid I knew which propelled me into playing sports. I loved football up until about the 9th grade when I realized that my 90 pound stature wasn't going to cut it on the field anymore. So i fell in love with another sport which was wrestling. I put all my effort into this sport throughout highschool hoping that I would be able to play at the next level one day. However, I got two season ending injuries during my junior and senior of high-school which didn't allow me to get recruited.
