Josh Vander Vies

Josh Vander Vies is an active Canadian national team boccia player, 2004 Paralympian, 2011 Parapan American Games individual bronze medalist and 2012 Paralympic doubles bronze medalist. As a professional speaker, he brings to corporate, government and community audiences the message that any obstacle can be shattered.

In 2006, the boccia players of the world elected Josh to the International Boccia Committee as Athlete Representative. A board member of AthletesCAN, Josh believes in empowering athletes in the Canadian sport system, and in strengthening primary stakeholders in any system. He acted as Athlete Council Representation on the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) Board of Directors, and chaired the CPC Athletes' Council.

Josh holds an honours double major in Political Science and French from the University of Western Ontario and is currently completing law school at the University of British Columbia.
