Josiah Wahlstrom

Teacher in Saskatchewan, Canada

Originally from Prince Albert Saskatchewan, I grew up loving the outdoors; working intrades; involved in church activities, playing and traveling with my pipe band, and pursuing school sports such as wrestling and rugby. My first academic pursuit, after high school, resulted in a B.A. in Christian Leadership from Nipawin Bible College in 2014. I obtained a class 1A drivers licence, the following year. During summers, I worked primarily in residential construction, and grain farming. Throughout this time, I enjoyed several volunteering opportunities. For example, drilling water wells, in parts of Burkina Faso where clean water is hard to come by. I also learned and assisted with children's programs, and adult job skills programs, at Healing Hearts Ministry in inner-city Regina. At Pine Ridge Bible Camp in Beauval Saskatchewan, I have volunteered almost every year and in many roles; from cabin leader, to cook, to program director, to maintenance.

In 2016, I began a B.A. History Major/Math Minor/Outdoor Occupational Health and Safety Minor, at Trinity Western University, and completed it at Laurentian University, in Sudbury Ontario. The following year, I also obtained a Bachelor of Education from Laurentian University.

My wife Alana, and I were married in the fall of 2021. We spent the first year of our marriage in Nunavut, teaching, and going on many adventures with our northern friends.

Currently, we live in Stanley Mission SK with our handsome baby Ari. I want to make a positive difference as a teacher by setting students up for future success. It is my dream to see students find their place as contributing members of their community.
