Josie Billinger
Student, Volunteer, and athlete in Michigan
Hello! My name is Josephine Billinger, but I just go by Josie. I am a senior at Troy High School, class of 2021. Besides being a terrible driver, here are seven other things that people should know about me.
1) People would either describe me as passionate or mild-mannered. I have two completely different personalities depending on what I am doing. I can spend hours on end painting or just enjoying the outdoors, but I cannot concentrate for even ten minutes trying to make food. I have no thoughts on limits, but I will be prepared to write a whole dissertation if anyone hates on Reimann sums.
2) I am a foodie. I love basically all fruits (I will eat a whole melon by myself in one sitting) and have never disliked any type of soup I have tried. I think I'm very open-minded when it comes to food, especially the kinds people find ‘weird’. Chicken feet? Yum. Durian? Delicious. While most people are nervous about trying new things, I'm always open to change.
3) I enjoy lying on the ground and doing nothing. I find it very soothing to simply exist and not think about anything, especially outside on an early summer morning. Being able to close my eyes and breathe in the fresh morning dew while letting the sunlight shine on my face is my favorite activity.
4) While some people may call me a perfectionist, I prefer the term assiduous. I feel like it suits me a lot better. Details are essential to my livelihood. When it comes to basically anything, I want things done exactly how I picture them in my mind or I won't be able to fall asleep.
5) I either think too much or don't at all. There really is no in-between. I admit - it is a bit concerning, but I am trying my best to find a good balance. Hopefully, my type-A tendencies will relax and I will learn to go with my instincts when making simple decisions and think before I act for others.
6) I love my friends like family. I will do what I think is best for the people around me and protect them - even if it means losing someone else. Friends and family are the most important aspects of my life and I prioritize them over everything else.
7) I am a completely different person than I was a few years ago. In middle school, I was mean and only cared about myself. But in high school, I realized that being kind and compassionate made me happy. I know I may look mean, but I just want to spread kindness and positivity.
I hope this makes people see who I am and become inspired (in some aspects) as well!
ps. you look great today!
