Josphat is the Founder of Jaymax Africa Connect Export Inter-Consultancy, a Nairobi-based trade advisory firm established to support African manufacturers and SMEs in expanding into regional and global markets. Through his consultancy, he has built strong networks of distributors, agents, importers, and buyers, enabling companies to transition from local operations into scalable export businesses.

Over the course of his career, he has developed a strong track record in FMCG export growth, supporting expansion across more than 19 countries in Africa. His market experience spans the full East African region, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, and Somaliland, as well as key growth markets such as Zambia, Malawi, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Seychelles, Mauritius, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, among others. His work also extends into international trade channels beyond Africa, supporting companies entering global FMCG markets.

His expertise spans international market entry strategy, route-to-market development, distributor network structuring, export execution, and product-market alignment. He is particularly recognised for his ability to translate strategy into execution—designing practical systems that enable companies to successfully penetrate, scale, and sustain growth in competitive markets.

In addition to his consultancy work, Josphat has held key commercial roles within the FMCG sector. At Melvins Tea Limited, where he served as Export Sales Executive and Acting Export Manager, he led market expansion into Botswana, Seychelles, and Tanzania, achieving consistent export growth and strengthening regional distribution networks. His responsibilities included developing market entry strategies, managing export operations, and building relationships with distributors and international buyers.

Prior to this, he built his professional foundation at BIDCO Africa Ltd, where he served in progressive roles across export administration, sales, and customer service. During his tenure, he contributed to significant sales growth across East Africa, strengthened distributor execution, and ensured high standards of export compliance and operational efficiency.

Josphat’s consultancy portfolio also includes his role as a Marketing Agent for Home Comfort Tea, where he has supported the development and expansion of tea products into international markets through distributor engagement, trade positioning, and market entry support.

Academically, he is currently pursuing a Diploma in Business Management & Entrepreneurship and holds a Diploma in Human Resource Management from Thika Technical Training Institute. He is also a Certified Import & Export Management Professional, further strengthening his technical foundation in international trade.
