I am an early Americanist and a professor. I am especially interested in early American women in the colonial period and the ways they shaped (and were shaped by) their religion(s). I am working on a book about Rebecca Kellogg Ashley, an Indian captive, a wife to a man in Kahnawake, a mother to Mohawk children, and eventually a translator for missionaries as well known as Jonathan Edwards.
