Joylynn Holder
Prospect Park, Brooklyn, NY
Joy believes all children should grow up playing in the mud, even if they live in New York City. So she started Brooklyn's first forest school with just seven families. Now more than 200 families join her in the park each week to experience a simple class designed to help young children engage with nature.
Joy talks to teachers, parents and anyone who will listen about incorporating wonder and outdoor play into the lives of young children. The National Organiation for Women called Joy a woman making history and the New York Times says she's one of good-looking Brooklyn’s ambassadors to the world. She attempts to live a life of balance with her husband Charlie Foster and their daughter.
