Jozlyn Michalek

Hello! Im Jozlyn Michalek! I am a student living in Manitowoc Wisconsin. I have very strong interests in music, theater, and history. I also have very strong beliefs in the LGBT+ community.

I was born on November 4th 2002. I currently live in Manitowoc with my parents, three older brothers, and five pets. I am the only daughter and the youngest. We moved here from Racine, Wisconsin when I was around nine months old. I attend Washington Junior High school at the moment and plan to go to Lincoln High school afterwards. In the past I attended Franklin Elementary school.

I have portrayed a character named Charita Hunt (lead female) in my 8th grade school play. I am also apart of an acting group called Treehouse Theater. I have been in two of their productions: Beauty and The Beast where I portrayed a villager and The Lion King where I portrayed Sarabi (as shown in the photo). I am also apart of chorus for my second year, and on my third year of taking a theater class.

As a teenager, it's very unique that I have an interest history. History is one of those subjects that teenagers dont usually grow an interest in. It may bored some of them or they dont see the point in learning about the past. I personally believe that learning about the past and how things came to be is an amazing experience.

Since I do have an interest in history I might take advantage of that and become an archaeologists. About 3-4 years ago I discovered an archaeologist named Josh Gates who inspired me and my interest history and the study of it. I might however go into an acting career or a directing career. It all depends on the paths I take and the interests I keep along the way. Another person I have been inspired by is Lin Manuel Miranda. He wrote the popular Broadway musical "Hamilton". Which is taking two of my favorite things and putting them together: History and musicals! I am lucky that I will be seeing Hamilton in Chicago on November 5th with my father as a birthday present and early Christmas present!

I have trouble meeting the right people. I used trust people easily and then realize that that isn't the smartest idea. Lately I have been having lots of trust issues. I have a small group of friends to rely on as well as a few teachers. I mostly trust my family because they encourage me to be myself.
