Jorge Paricio Garcia

Dr. Jorge Paricio García received a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from the Complutense University of Madrid in Spain in 1992, a Masters Degree in Industrial Design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn in 1994 and a Doctorate Degree in Fine Arts from the Complutense University in 2004. He has worked in product design, packaging and point of purchase and exhibit design for small design studios in the East Coast, Arizona and Europe and for companies such as Colgate Palmolive or Sony Electronics. While working and studying in New York City, several of his design pieces were highlighted in publications such as the New York Times and Interiors magazine.

He has more than fifteen years of experience as a docent, having worked and lectured in Europe and in the in the US: Istituto Europeo di Design, Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design and The Rhode Island School of Design among others. He is a member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals and the Interior Design Educatiors Council.

He is the academic advisor for the software SketchUp for the Wiley & Sons Inc and collaborated in publishing their book Introduction to Google SketchUp, in their last two editions. He joined The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online Division as a full time teacher in 2006.
