James P. Burke

I'm a PhD student in Mathematics Education and a researcher involved with a number of innovative and creative mathematics research studies. In the mathematical domain, connections between proportional reasoning and algebra interest me, like how people come to understand covariation and functions.

I have also been a professional software developer, and I still think a lot about technology. I love humor, science fiction and anything that sparks imagination. I like to think, and I try to do so responsibly as I continue to develop my skills as a scientist.

My favorite relaxing free-time activities are running long distances with my wife, having lunch with my daughters, and cracking wise with my friends behind some delicious beverage.

Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or thoughts.
