Joanne Warkill

Joanne has a wealth of experience in the Indigenous sector and has many personal qualities that she brings to her role as Local Coordinator (VTEC) at JPC. Joanne’s greatest strengths are her communication, her skills in coordinating events, networking and using her initiative. All of which are crucial in her coordination position. Joanne’s key responsibilities at John Pearson Consulting are to assist the VTEC Manager with collating information and statistical data for reporting, as well as to coordinate and facilitate program meetings, events and activities.
With qualifications, Diploma Business, Diploma Management, Cert IV Community Services and Cert IV Training and Assessment, Joanne’s education also highlights her clear ability in management and administration in the community industry.
Joanne also has a wealth of experience in the training and employment sector, which meant that starting work at JPC was a natural progression for her career. Previous employment for Joanne includes roles as an Indigenous Mentor, which involved mentoring Indigenous jobseekers into training and employment, and a role Managing an ASSI Training and Employment Program.
Working for and with Indigenous communities and assisting them in overcoming barriers, has been very inspiring for Joanne, it is that inspiration she maintains at JPC, that helps her to work towards the best possible outcomes for our clients. Joanne also describes the most rewarding experience of her working life as being, Presenting ASSI Cultural Workshops into Human Resource departments.
Voluntary work and community activities are things Joanne has always believed in. She volunteered with the Indigenous and ASSI communities for 35 years as part of the committee's sports club and transporting ASSI youth to various events to learn about their cultural history. A big inspiration for Joanne is her father who, despite a lot of suffering in his life, became one of the ASSI strong leaders for our communities. Joanne has a strong understanding of the importance of community and respect in what we do at JPC.
