Karen Rosas
Sunshine Coast, Queensland
Karen is a passionate and dedicated member of the Indigenous Workstars team, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge acquired from previous roles in large organisations. Recently, Karen was involved in the development and deployment of a management system at Brisbane City Council, where she coordinated its deployment and the training of internal staff. This highly successful project was awarded the Lord Mayors Award for Excellence. Prior to this success, Karen was involved in the establishment of a Registered Training Organisation in the resource sector, where she saw education as a key to achieving success and changing lives.
As a Recruitment Consultant in the Indigenous Workstars team, Karen is driven by a desire to see Abroginal and Torres Strait Islander people succeed, assisting them to secure employment and gain opportunity with major employers across the country. She also holds her Certificate IV in Business Administration.
Karen’s time spent volunteering with St Vincent DePaul has given her a great sense of community and an appreciation of the difference that can be made in peoples lives. She draws inspiration from people that have supported her on her journey; friends, family and colleagues that have helped shape her career.
