Josh Peimer
I am a JD candidate at New England Law | Boston with a focus in intellectual property law, and plan to sit for the Patent Bar. To this effect, I am currently taking Patent Law, am the Secretary for the Intellectual Property Law Association at NEL | B, and plan to take substantive courses in order to be well-rounded within both hard and soft IP issues.
I am currently seeking a summer experience in intellectual property for June-August 2012. Before beginning my 2L year, I split my time as a law clerk at the Board of Hearings handling state health insurance appeals in Massachusetts and for the Law Office of Maureen Raiche Manning in Manchester, NH working on personal injury claims.
I graduated with a degree in molecular genetics from the University of Vermont in 2006. While at UVM, I was a lab research assistant for both Dr. Terry Delaney (plant immunology) and for Dr. Scott Morrical (biochemistry). I also interned with the NH Forensic Lab in 2005.
I worked as a Public Health Microbiologist in VT from 2006 to 2007, and then worked for TestAmerica, Inc. processing organic samples for environmental testing. In 2008, I began graduate studies in microbiology at the U. Maine, Orono, completing my masters in 2010. My research focused on the engineering of a strain of Geobacillus thermoglucosidasius for use as a tracking technology.
I began training in Taekwondo in 1992. I am a 4th degree black belt (Kukkiwon, #09025570) and internationally certified Master instructor. I have worn many different hats in time in the martial arts, including: the training of students from beginner to black belt, teaching classes to students with a wide range of abilities and at various ages, judging at competitions, assisting with and lecturing at seminars, managing internet content, developing and manging regular curricula, maintaining and reviewing techinical standards, and mentoring new instructors and students. I look forward to eventually testing for 5th degree.
