I trained at Homerton College, Cambridge as a primaryspecialist and have worked in education for the past 24 years. During my career I’ve been an advanced skillsteacher and spent a period in headship. I have worked in initial teacher education for the past twelve years, inboth universities and in school-based provision. I am currently the executive director of TheThames Primary Consortium (www.thamesprimaryscitt.co.uk)an organisation of which I am tremendously proud. Thames is a teacher-training provider,comprising 100 schools across Essex, working in some areas of extremechallenge. I have recently beenseconded to The National College for Teaching and Leadership, DfE as an Advisorand am on the advisory board for The Teacher Development Trust. I am deeply committed to raising the statusof the teaching profession and this has formed a large part of my work asStrategic Lead for The Expert Subject Advisory Groups (www.expertsubejctgroups.co.uk).

My work overseas includes a programmecurrently in development in Tanzania where we are working with two charities tocreate networks for school improvement in one of the remotest and most deprivedareas in the country with a particular focus on Maasai girls. Throughout mycareer in education I have also worked as a professional actor and voiceartist, working with a range of companies of international renown.
