Justin Acker
Justin's career has been quite varied, and shows he is very adaptable in the workplace. In addition to working in technology, education, and restaurants Justin has held many other positions. These include, but are not limited to, construction worker, actor, portrait photographer, and lifeguard.
Justin was the founder, owner and sole employee of a small IT consulting business called Highlands County Computer Lessons and Repairs in Highlands County, Florida. Although the business started small and originally catered to private clients, news of Justin's superior service and pricing soon traveled the county, and he began to do more and more corporate work. By the time the business closed its doors, Justin counted a major law firm, a travel agency, three non-profit organizations and a few local government offices among his patrons, along with his stable of private clients. The business was so popular that, despite being closed for almost two years, Justin still gets calls requesting service on a weekly basis. In addition to computer consulting and repair, he also has a bit of a development background. He has some experience with C++, HTML, and Ruby.
Justin Acker holds a B.A. in English from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. He also attended the Educator Preparation Institute in Florida. He is certified to teach English, Computer Science, Music, Drama and the Middle Grades Integrated Curriculum. Justin has nearly four years of teaching experience.
Justin is also a customer service virtuoso. He put himself through college as a waiter and bartender, and he has about a decade of experience in the restaurant industry. During his time in restaurants, Justin filled almost every front-of-house role available, including management, hosting, and bussing. Justin was also the assistant manager of a Tea House.
During his down-time, Justin likes to create and perform music. He is a classically trained vocalist and a functional pianist. He enjoys learning about new technology (and pushing the limits of current technology) and contributes to certain blogs to keep his writing skills sharp.
Justin Acker lives in New York City and is looking for an interesting and challenging job that will fit his skill set. If you know of such an opening, please contact him and let him know.
