Fashionista songwriter and multifaceted artist 20 year-old Jessica Renee Brown is far from new to the industry. Born and raised in the home of many greats Chicago, IL, Brown was born into an environments filled with entertainment opportunities. J.Renee wasted no time to entering the industry, at age 5, J.Renee started performing at various locations and occasions. “Knowing that I could make such beautiful tone come out of my mouth, I knew that God had blessed me with something that he would want me to do for the rest of my life” says J.Renee. That is exactly what she plans to do, bless the people with her amazing voice.

The real work didn’t start there. J.Renee instead of just being a singer had dreams of becoming a songwriter and producer. Writing was always a struggle for her due to the lack of inspiration and creativity. Until it finally hit her, J.Renee creativity flowed out of her like a quiet river and it hasn’t stopped flowing yet. She learned that isolation and motivation would be the best fitting form of writing for her. Through the use of various forms of creative writing, J.Renee has finally found her voice with a pen and paper, and has no plans of putting it down any time soon.

As an artist and songwriter J.Renee was always associated with Gospel music and compared to many of the greats within the music industry. Many of her musical influences include Mary Mary, JJill Scott, Erykah Badu, Beyonce and Musiq Soulchild to name a few. This soft tone fashionista had to accept that her music is bet fit for fans that enjoy soothing, gentle and peaceful music between the ages of 18-25 years of age. Although, J.Renee best fits in a wide array of genres of music indie, neo soul and R&B, she hopes to cross over to a pop artist as well to expand her target market. “I always have loved the sound of Indie music and the smooth and relaxing tone of neo soul artists, so being placed in this genre is beyond a blessing. But over time I plan to work hard to reach all genres of music”, says J.Renee.

As any other artist J.Renee goals are to become successful. Which is expected. But she rather give back to the community and change the music game through giving to those in need more than anything.
