J.R. Fleming

JR is an American artist, illustrator, and maker of strange things. For JR, great art should illuminate the message for which it is created. JR is driven to invent innovative ways to illustrate the messages her colleagues need to send, often through mixed media, powerful composition, and compelling mood. In addition to creating artwork for the steampunk production company Airship Isabella, JR draws and paints on freelance, for a variety of industries (including film, publishing, and music). Media mastered include digital painting, watercolor, pencil, pen, ink, and collage.

Current projects include a graphic novel (THE STRANGE, written and art directed by Saint James LLC), multiple book illustration assignments, portraiture, and a mural. Curiosity, a love of learning, and a passion for illustration propel JR to adapt quickly to the needs of any assignment. Challenges always welcomed.
