John Smith
My name is John Smith. I am originally from California. I attended University of Southern California (USC) where I majored in Finance and Economics. Upon graduating from USC, I obtained my dream job working on Wall Street as an institutional trader specializing in money market equities. I worked on Wall Street for about a year before I decided that this career path was not for me. As a result of this, I left Wall Street and began teaching at the 5th and 6th grade level.
I moved to Texas a year ago to attend Texas State University. I am now in the process of finishing my Masters in Educational Development with Certification. I plan to once again teach at the 5 and 6 grade level (Generalist). I have chosen to teach underserved (5th and 6th) graders because I have a special connection with this population. I myself sat in the same chairs as my students and understand their individual needs. I know that I can help make a difference in my student’s lives as I can provide them with real world advice and experience. When I am not teaching, my hobbies include snowboarding, motorcycle riding, and traveling.
