Juan E. Rodriguez

MBA Student, Management consultant, and Data Miner in Boston, Massachusetts

I'm a Magna Cum Laude MBA from Babson College with experience in management consulting and data analytics for financial institutions. I speak fluently English, Spanish, German, and Portuguese.

During my time at Babson I focused mainly in the Business Analytics field with the purpose of further developing my analytical skills and getting to know top notch tools and trends from field experts like Prof. Thomas Davenport. Due to my outstanding academic performance I was nominated by Babson to be a lifetime member Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest recognition a business student in the world can receive.

While doing my MBA, I worked with the head of the Economics Department at Babson in a project funded by the David Educational Foundation, where I used Babson's historical data to build a financial model that will help colleges implement innovative programs that reduce costs, increase revenues, and improve capacity utilization.

Before Babson I worked for four years in Bogota at StratCo, a boutique consulting firm (30+ employees) founded by former McKinsey consultants. Here I participated and led strategic planning and analytics projects for some of the most relevant financial groups in Colombia and Central America, including Bancolombia (NYSE: CIB), Colpatria (by Scotiabank, NYSE: BNS), and Alianza (by Advent International). At one of my projects I was able to identify business opportunities worth USD$75M+ by using data analytics to find unattended client segments with high customer lifetime value. I was promoted from Analyst to Consultant and then to Senior Consultant within 3 years.

I'm passionate about entrepreneurship, and in June 2013 I founded Sierra Fitness with two friends. I was the CEO until we successfully sold the gym to a larger CrossFit company in December 2014. As the CEO I developed the strategy, launched the concept, and ran the operations.

I also have experience in marketing from working as an Assistant Brand Manager for Quala S.A.

While pursuing my bachelor degree in Business Administration at Los Andes University I worked as an Intern at Daimler AG in Germany, where I have lived for 1.5 years.
